The Concept corporate timeline:


1999 - Concept is created.


• Greg Broux leaves his law firm Hely Edgar (now Philips Fox) to start up Genium.net as a testing bed for the delivery of Internet Services in Western Australia.

• The results of the experiment lead Greg Broux and Kerry Day (an old school time friend) to set up a company delivering Internet Services and trading as Concept Networks.


2000 - 1st Point of Presence (POP) Commissioned.

• The City of Fremantle (W.A.’s second City) chooses Concept as its preferred supplier of Internet Services.

• Concept commissions it first POP in the centre of Fremantle.

• A wireless network is commissioned in conjunction with the City of Fremantle offering high speed connectivity to local businesses.

• Concept is chosen to provide dial-up services to the City of Fremantle Precinct Offices.


2001 - Concept Wholesale releases VISP Platform & 2nd POP is created.

• Concept wireless Network expands to 5km radius from the centre of Fremantle.

• Concept develops a Wireless Distribution platform for a Video on Demand project.

• Concept announces launch of a Virtual Internet Service Provider (VISP) Management platform for existing ISP’s.

• Concept’s second point of presence (POP) is commissioned in the centre of Perth.


2002 - Concept offers State Wide ADSL.

• Concept announces State Wide ADSL with unlimited plans.

• Concept, Redgum consulting and Murdoch University form a tendering consortium for a series of Learning Federation Multi-Media Tenders worth 68 Million Dollars.

• Concept signs a memorandum of understanding with local and Asian partners for the establishment of a security networks platform over ADSL.


2003 - Concept expands.

• Concept merges with Westlink Internet Services.

• Concept Integration is born with a full time development team.

• Concept expands to regional Western Australia with the acquisition of regional ISPs.


2004 - Brisbane & Melbourne POPS are commissioned.

• Concept choses Optus Communications Ltd as its preferred network supplier.

• Concept opens Brisbane & Melbourne POPS offering Layer 2 & 3 entry points to its national network.

• Concept signs Development contract with PT Tirta Kencana Kahaya in Indonesia for the development of a Water Treatment Operations Platform.


2005 - Concept Offers National ADSL.

• Concept announces National Layer2 ADSL Service.

• Concept Integration offers 7 day a week development services.
